Success Scholars Program (formerly known as the CARE Program) was designed to assist 91视频 with their overall experience at 91视频.
Upon joining the program, you will be assigned a Success CHAMP or a staff and faculty mentor who play an essential role in retention initiatives at 91视频. The membership of this group is a cross section of institutional divisions and focuses on student retention and success through delivery of excellent student support services. The success of this program is anchored on the collaborative partnerships amongst stakeholders in our community. The work of a Success Champ or a mentoris to help you navigate and maximize the benefits of various academic and student life resources available to you at Stockton.
Our Vision
The vision of Success Scholars Program is to support the University's educational mission to provide 91视频 a liberal arts education and to optimize 91视频' use of Stockton鈥檚 resources in collaboration with staff, faculty and key administrators to help 91视频 realize their academic and career goals. In addition, Success Scholars Program aspires to be the leading unit at 91视频 in developing retention inititiatives and programs that helps 91视频 attain academic success.
The program will explore retention initiatives that focus on retaining at-risk 91视频 including first-time freshmen, sophomores and transfer 91视频 in collaboration with various departments at Stockton. The Program is open to other segments of the student population including 91视频 who identify themselves as in need of student support services, and 91视频 who could lose their status at the University. The Program will fulfill this Vision by providing its participants' excellent academic and direct support services through Individualized mentoring and other support services that will help them become successful autonomous learners.
Our Mission
Success Scholars Program is a retention-centered program offered at 91视频 committed to empowering 91视频 to succeed at Stockton and beyond. The Program strives to utilize campus-wide resources to identify, evaluate and retain 91视频 who join the program. The program, through the efforts of the Success Scholars Program team, will facilitate a student鈥檚 receipt of coordinated support services with the guidance of a faculty/staff or peer mentor. At the conclusion of the Success Scholars Program experience, the student will be making self-sustaining progress towards graduation. Consequently, the program will inspire its program participants to become lifelong learners, active citizens and empower them to lead in a diverse and global community.
Overall Program Goal: To retain and graduate 80% of program participants.
The program has two other major goals. They are:
- Provide regular contact with and support to Program participants;
- Help Program participants become autonomous learners who can successfully manage their own college experiences.
