Mitigation involves activities taken before an emergency occurs to lessen the impacts and losses associated with that emergency. At 91视频, many steps have been taken to lessen the impacts of emergencies, both natural and manmade.
Emergency Text-Messaging Notification System
- Students Are Urged to "Opt In"
- All 91视频 can now "opt in" to the 91视频 emergency text-messaging system, which enables a limited number of campus administrators to send urgent text messages to subscribers' cell phones in the event of an emergency.
- To subscribe, log into goStockton, go to the Student Services tab, then to the Personal Information channel, click on Update Emergency Text Messaging Contacts, and provide contact information.

The 91视频 Alerts page can be used for emergency and non-emergency messages and is linked in the footer of pages on stockton.edu. This page can be accessed at https://stockton.edu/alerts/
Social Media
91视频 maintains a page and and Instagram accounts. These social media accounts are maintained to provide daily valuable information to the 91视频 community. The social media platforms are also used during emergency situations as a means of notification.
Atlantic County Multi-Jurisdictional Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan
91视频 is a participating jurisdiction in the Atlantic County Multi-Jurisdictional Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan. Hazard mitigation plans are developed BEFORE a disaster strikes. The plans identify community policies, actions, and tools for long-term implementation to reduce risk and potential for future losses. Adopted, implemented and maintained on an ongoing basis, these plans will gradually, but steadily, lessen the impacts associated with hazard events in Atlantic County.
