2024 Nurture NJ Leadership Summit: Strengthening and Diversifying the Perinatal Workforce
New Jersey is on a mission to become the safest, most equitable state in the nation to deliver and raise a baby. Join us for the seventh Nurture NJ Leadership Summit as we work together to build the critical workforce necessary to make that vision a reality!
Since 2018, New Jersey First Lady Tammy Murphy has hosted annual Nurture NJ Leadership Summits, bringing together experts from across the state and country to discuss and identify solutions to our maternal and infant health crisis and the unacceptable disparities that persist. The summit will include 500 national experts, doulas, hospital CEOs and health care providers, elected officials, activists, representatives from state departments and agencies, nonprofit leaders, moms, and more.
Through Nurture NJ - with ideas, partnerships and collaborations developed during these Summits and more - New Jersey has moved from 47th for maternal deaths to 28th in the nation. This progress is attributed to our thousands of partners on the ground, but our work is far from over. Together, we will continue to build a coalition, uplift the voices most impacted, and enact meaningful and innovative policies to transform the landscape of maternal health to better serve our moms and babies.
This year鈥檚 theme focuses on strengthening and diversifying the perinatal workforce. Those joining us will have the opportunity to join collaborative discussions and thoughtful problem solving- where we will actively seek and record your input 鈥 as well as hear from national experts.
Thank you so much for your partnership on this important mission.

was launched in 2019 by First Lady Tammy Murphy to make New Jersey the safest, most equitable state in the nation to deliver and raise a baby. Nurture NJ encompasses the entire work of the Murphy Administration on maternal and infant health. In addition to the Strategic Plan, Nurture NJ鈥檚 ongoing efforts include over 65 pieces of maternal and infant health legislation signed by Governor Murphy, funding for groundbreaking programs and policies, an annual Black Maternal and Infant Health Leadership Summit, a Family Festival event series, and the development of a first-of-its-kind Maternal and Infant Health Innovation Authority to continue the work beyond this administration.
