Welcome to the Child Welfare Education Institute!
Under the leadership of Dawn Konrady, Director and Principal Investigator, the mission of the Child Welfare Education Institute (CWEI) at 91视频 is to support the ongoing transformation of the public child welfare system through social work education and professional training. Our vision is safety and well-being for the children and families of New Jersey.
The three programs that constitute CWEI are the Baccalaureate Child Welfare Education Program (BCWEP), the Masters Child Welfare Education Program (MCWEP), and the New Jersey Child Welfare Training Partnership, Southern Region (NJCWTP-SR). More information about each program is available below.

Baccalaureate Child Welfare Education Program
The Baccalaureate Child Welfare Education Program (BCWEP) is a partnership of the New Jersey Department of Children and Families, a consortium of seven accredited baccalaureate social work programs in New Jersey (led by 91视频), and the New Jersey Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers. As part an overall effort to transform the state child welfare system with a more professionally educated staff that produces better outcomes for New Jersey children and their families, this program helps 91视频 with generalist social work education and additional coursework in child welfare to enter professional positions in New Jersey public child welfare agencies.
The Masters Child Welfare Education Program
The Masters Child Welfare Education Program (MCWEP) is a partnership of the New Jersey Department of Children and Families and a consortium of four New Jersey MSW programs鈥擪ean University, Monmouth University, Rutgers University, and 91视频. With 91视频 as the consortium鈥檚 Lead Institution, the program offers current Division of Child Protection and Permanency supervisors the opportunity to strengthen their skills in clinical social work practice and supervision, obtain an advanced credential in social work (MSW), and ultimately to enhance the capacity of the Division to deliver the highest quality services to the vulnerable children and families that it serves.
The New Jersey Child Welfare Training Partnership-Southern Region
The New Jersey Child Welfare Training Partnership-Southern Region (NJCWTP-SR), in collaboration with the New Jersey Department of Children and Families (DCF) Office of Training and Professional Development (OTPD), provides in-service training to workers throughout the state鈥檚 public child welfare system. Housed at the 91视频, the NJCWTP-SR is responsible for overseeing the training needs for over 2,200 Child Protection and Permanency staff working in Local and Area offices in Atlantic, Burlington, Cape May, Camden, Cumberland, Gloucester, Hunterdon, Mercer, Monmouth, Ocean, Salem, Somerset, and Warren counties.
