Galloway Township, NJ The Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and the Sisters of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority of the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey will host the First Annual Fire and Ice AIDS Walk at the College Sunday, October 2, 2005 from 10 a.m. through 2 p.m. The event will take place on the track on the athletic fields adjacent to parking lot 4.

Registration fee for the Walk is $5, with all proceeds going to the South Jersey AIDS Alliance. Donations are also welcome. Checks or money orders may be sent to The Richard Stockton College Office of Student Development, P.O. Box 195, Pomona NJ 08240, and Attn: Alpha Phi Alpha, Fraternity, Inc.

To date, there is no cure for AIDS, but there are ways to make a very big difference, said Raymond Royster, spokesperson for Alpha Phi Alpha. Prevention, testing and education are the key ways to prevent the ongoing spread of HIV/AIDS. By focusing on these key features, we can reduce the rate of infection and help those who are coping with this disease. On Oct. 2 our goals are to educate and to raise funds.

In conjunction with the AIDS Walk, The Public Health Society of the College will be hosting a Health Fair in the lower K-Wing Gallery, also on October 2 from 10 a.m. through 3:30 p.m. For additional information, contact the Office of Student Development at 609-652-4205.
