Pomona, NJ The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey will launch a new Master of Business Administration Program at the start of classes in the Fall 2003, semester.

This is the only MBA offered in the region with fulltime teaching faculty, said Program Director Dr. Sam Bulmash, a Ph. D. from Northwestern University, one of the top business programs in the United States. We will offer the same personalized instruction and the close student-teacher relationships Stockton undergraduate programs are noted for. Other local programs offer adjunct professors and save their best faculty for the main campus.

Bulmash said that initially the admission requirement for the program was a GMAT score of 400, which he expected to rise in the future, as well as a bachelors degree from a regionally accredited college or university.  Other requirements include six prerequisites typical of graduate business programs nationally such as undergraduate coursework, although alternative ways of demonstrating mastery will be developed.

Complete admission criteria and further admission information to the program is available by contacting the Admissions Department at the College at (609) 652-4451 or by e-mail at siprod105@Stockton.edu.

What we hope to accomplish with this program is to make it one of the most high quality MBA programs anywhere, and to make it versatile for all types of 91ÊÓƵ, says Bulmash.  The program is aimed at reaching traditional undergraduate 91ÊÓƵ who wish to pursue careers in business and also the working professional who wishes to advance in his career. We have already enrolled a number of engineers from the

Stockton received approval for the new program from the New Jersey Presidents Council in June. It replaces the Masters in Business Studies (MBS) degree, which has been offered at Stockton since 1997.  The MBS, a carefully designed and quality program is not as accepted as the degree of currency in the business community.  Students who have graduated from this program have reported that it has been useful to them in their careers, however those already enrolled in the MBS will if they wish be transferred into the MBA.  Faculty will assist in finding the most direct path to meeting graduation requirements.

The new MBA program at Stockton is designed for middle managers, small business people, entrepreneurs, and professionals such as engineers, social services workers and health care professionals.  The program will be useful for people who have been promoted into managerial positions and would like to build an educational foundation for this new aspect of their career.  The program is also assessable to 91ÊÓƵ recently completing their undergraduate degrees.  The college plans to develop models for liberal arts undergrads at Stockton to follow in order to complete prerequisites and move directly into the MBA following graduation.

The program will require 33 credits or 11 three-credit courses.  Each student will be in consultation with an advisor who will help select electives to create concentration in an area such as marketing or finance, or to compliment basic studiers with specialized areas such as hospitality management geographic information systems or business ethics.

Students who hold bachelors degrees but who have not yet been admitted may also enroll in the program with the permission of the director on a non-matriculated basis.
