BRIGANTINE, NJ The Xi-Rho Chapter of Kappa Sigma fraternity at The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey will hold its fourth annual Polar Plunge, 11 a.m. on February 12 at the extreme North End beach in Brigantine, NJ. Anyone brave enough to participate will gather on the beach and plunge into the frigid ocean. Spectators and friends are also welcome. The event is open to the public.

There is no specific registration fee, but all money donated will benefit a fund to build an orphanage for the many homeless children in India as a result of the Tsunami.

We created this event four years ago to raise money for one of the family members of a brother who had been diagnosed with cancer, said Steve Radwanski, Chairman of the event. Last year, we donated more than $1,000 to the American Cancer Society. Most of the money came from the Stockton community, but we would be grateful for support from anyone who would like to help.

Radwanski said Kappa Sigma was setting the bar a bit higher this year, with a goal of $3,000 to send to the India Relief Fund.

We are proud of this small but continuing tradition, which we could not accomplish without the generosity of our community. We appreciate any support people can offer. Its important to remember that any amount helps.

Those who are unable to attend the Polar Plunge but who would still like to help the cause may send their tax deductible contributions. Checks and money orders can be made payable to Kappa Sigma Fraternity and sent to:
