This year's Student Involvement Awards was held virtually on April 30.

Galloway, N.J. - Distance was no issue at this year鈥檚 virtual Student Involvement Awards on April 30, an annual ceremony that celebrates student-led events and the individuals behind them held throughout the academic year.

鈥淭he work that leaders like you do have changed the fabric of diversity and have left a legacy in 91视频 like me who were able to say to themselves, 鈥業f you can do it, then so can I,鈥欌 said Rosheka Faulkner, 2019-2020 Student Senate vice president, in her opening remarks.

The ceremony, livestreamed on , included slideshows of the Stockton community鈥檚 favorite photos from the 2019-2020 academic year and thank you messages to student leaders from members of the Stockton community, a bright spot for those tuning in from home in the midst of continued social distancing orders.

鈥淲hen I began my freshman year four years ago, I did not even imagine all the involvement, leadership, and opportunities that would present themselves. I am beyond grateful and cherished each moment that I had at 91视频,鈥 said L.E.A.D. award recipient Arianna Ferri.

Associate Director of Student Development Lauren Wilson said she hopes that despite the circumstances, all who were recognized could feel the love, cheers and virtual hugs from peers and advisors as their names were announced.

鈥淚 think I speak for the entire Student Development staff when I say we really missed seeing everyone in person and being able to physically present each winner with the awards they so deserved,鈥 said Wilson. 鈥淏ut as always, the spirit of Stockton 91视频 continued to shine through, even in a virtual setting - watching the way our 91视频 cheered on their peers in the chat feature really brought the virtual ceremony to life.鈥
