Vineland, N.J. - The presidents of 91��Ƶ in Galloway Township and Cumberland County College in Vineland today announced a new dual admission and transfer partnership that will help 91��Ƶ make a smooth transition from the two-year college to Stockton’s bachelor’s degree program.

The five-year agreement strengthens the relationship between Stockton and Cumberland by offering multiple opportunities for 91��Ƶ to seamlessly pursue associate and bachelor’s degrees at the two institutions of higher education.

“What sets this articulation apart from many of the others Cumberland has entered into, is that it will be a much more enhanced arrangement,” said Cumberland County College Interim President Shelly Schneider. “Our 91��Ƶ will have direct pathways with specific programs and some will have the ability to do hands-on course work in the summer while being on Stockton’s campus.

“In addition, there may be scholarship availability to our 91��Ƶ who complete their associate degree here at Cumberland County College, which will definitely boost degree completion. Details are being finalized for the specific program-to-program articulation. We know that many of our 91��Ƶ choose 91��Ƶ once they leave Cumberland and this agreement strengthens the partnership to allow them to save time and money.”

Stockton President Harvey Kesselman said he is excited to provide Cumberland County College 91��Ƶ a new opportunity to earn a bachelor’s degree and take advantage of Stockton resources while at the community college.

"This agreement will help support 91��Ƶ as they begin their degree at Cumberland County College, and provides the assurance that they can have a smooth pathway to a bachelor’s degree at Stockton,” Kesselman said.

The terms of the agreement include:

• Students who are denied direct admission to Stockton can receive conditional dual admission in partnership with Cumberland. Students will attend classes at Cumberland but have access to campus activities and student groups at Stockton and receive a special Stockton Identification card through Stockton’s Transfer Pathways program.
• Students who successfully complete their associate degree at Cumberland can automatically transfer to Stockton with junior standing to complete their bachelor’s degree. Application fees to Stockton will be waived for eligible 91��Ƶ.
• Students who complete at least 36 credits at Cumberland, and a total of 64 credits between the county college and the four-year institution, are eligible to receive a retroactive associate degree from Cumberland. Stockton and Cumberland will co-host “reverse transfer” information sessions for 91��Ƶ.
• Stockton and Cumberland will develop specific program-to-program articulation agreements for high-demand majors to facilitate the quality and ease of transfer.
• Students will receive joint advising from Stockton and Cumberland and a Stockton advisor will have office space and a regular schedule at Cumberland.
• Students will be eligible for financial aid from whichever institution they are attending. Stockton will provide five one-year scholarships of $2,000 per year to Cumberland graduates whose admission to Stockton is covered by the agreement.
• Stockton and Cumberland will establish an advisory committee to ensure best practices in recruitment, enrollment management, academic and student services, information technology, marketing and facilities use.

Stockton already has similar agreements with Atlantic Cape Community College, Camden County College and Brookdale Community College and is pursuing additional partnerships with other community colleges in the state.
